Review: Eating Evolved Chocolate

Merry Christmas!

Since many of us start the day dumping our favorite treats out of our Christmas stockings, it's the perfect day for a chocolate review!
Growing up half-German, good chocolate was treated as much as a staple food as bread. Eating Evolved Chocolate agrees!

A company that believes 'Chocolate is Food, Not Candy,' an assertion that's printed boldly inside their chocolate bar boxes, Eating Evolved creates all natural, paleo dark chocolate bars out of just a few simple, whole foods ingredients to keep the nutritional value of their huff-cocoa-content dark chocolate bars intact.

Once again, my belief that healthy is delicious is proved right!
Eating Evolved chocolate is creamy, rich, flavorful, and not too sweet (but sweet enough) so that the cocoa flavor has the spotlight.

There are a variety of bars, of which I tried the Signature Dark, Vanilla Bean & Coffee, and (my favorite) the Crunchy Caramel.

Even in the flavored bars, the flavoring is more of an accent than a prominent part of the experience of the bar.

The Crunchy Caramel, for example, has a few crunchy pieces sprinkled on one side of the bar that provide hints of caramel to complicate the smooth, indulgent dark chocolate, but it's definitely not a typical chocolate caramel candy bar that's filled with caramel.

The coconut cups are the exception. For lovers of peanut butter cups (or the idea of peanut butter cups) and/or coconut oil, these are a delight!

It's dark chocolate wrapped around a creamy solid coconut oil center, creating a more artisan and adult Mounds experience without the stringy bits of coconut breaking up the smoothness of the chocolate.

They're the original coconut oil cup! Like the bars, the coconut oil cups are made with just a few simple, healthful ingredients.

Whether you or a loved one is trying to follow a more whole foods based diet or simply cut back on highly processed, high sugar sweets for your well-being, there's no need to give up good chocolate. The best chocolate is as good for your body as it is for your soul!

Do you like peanut butter cups? Have you tried any peanut butter cup spin-offs?

What sweet treat do you eat most often?

What was your favorite thing in your stocking this year?
