Fit for Spring: A Go2Go Review!

Sometimes healthy habits can get lost in the hectic of work, the cozy cold of the winter, or the boredom of routine. Luckily, all it takes to return to healthy habits (and feeling our best!) is making the decision to do so! There are, of course, some things that can make that transition back to healthy living easier. Go2Go helps!

Go2Go is delivered daily in the evening (6pm for me) before, so that your food is fresh and ready for you, no matter how early you have to leave for work!

They're delivered in a cute, recyclable cardboard box, like an over-sized take-out container with a handy carrying handle. This is extra convenient for work days, because you can just leave your meals in the carton and carry them along to store in your work fridge that way!

Each day comes with a healthy lunch, dinner, snack, and fresh juice.

There are several plans that you can choose between. Whether you're a vegetarian, an athlete, or even ordering for a kid, Go2Go can be there for you!

That takes most of the work of food prep out of your day, but also leaves with the flexibility to choose what you want to eat for your third meal. It's a win-win! You are, of course, encouraged to choose healthy, natural foods for your third meal and to stay hydrated.

Five Things To Love About Spring

Spring is coming!

With near 60F weather in NYC this past weekend (after a polar vortex-inspired freeze the weekend before that made it hurt to breathe) it feels like it's already here. Fair enough! The groundhog did say spring is coming early this year.

And rodents determine the weather, right?

Anyway, in case you want to pre-celebrate spring with me (or live in the South, where it is spring right at the start of March), here are five things I love about spring!

Review: Sundance Vegan Milk Chocolate

For those of you saw my recent Sundance Bar review and despaired that the only dairy-free chocolates seem to be dark chocolate, I have good news. Sundance Bar makes a delicious vegan "milk" chocolate bar, as well!

The milk is coconut milk powder!

Five of My Favorite Kitchen Hacks

It's the first Tuesday into Lent and several of the people I know who celebrate Lent (Catholic and not - some just like the practice in gratitude and simplified living) are giving up eating out for the holiday, or even just eating dinner out on weeknights.

All joking aside, it doesn't have to be difficult to eat at home more.

Read on for five of my favorite kitchen hacks to help make eating in easier, quicker, and all-in-all more convenient!

Four Fun February Foods

Trying new things is always so fun! It's no secret that I love to cook and bake and generally play with food in the hopes that something awesome (and edible) happens. Here are four fun February foods that I'm trying this month!

Since Valentine's Day is tomorrow, don't worry - if you're super behind this year, it's not too late to retreat to the kitchen, cover things in flour, and emerge with a sure-to-please food gift for your special someone!

I give these toasted coconut and cherry hand pies a glowing recommendation.

They're really cute, super festive, taste great, and make a beautiful gift. If you follow Kim's recipe exactly, they're also pretty quick and easy to make! I like to make my own pie crust so that the whole recipe is from scratch, but that's the only thing that I did differently.

Read on for more great gifts, festive foods, and even something for those who like to avoid all things Valentine's Day!

Review: Nookie Bars

An afternoon snack is great for so many reasons, especially when working or traveling. It gives us energy, fights off hangriness, and keeps us from being ravenous by dinner time!

But what we choose for our snacks matters just a much as choosing to have a snack. Nookie Bars are a nutritious snack that are both healthy and delicious!

We don't have to compromise taste or convenience for good nutrition. Nookie Bars  have yummy chocolate, healthy fats and sugars for the energy we need to make it through the rest of our days, and even the superfood spirulina!

Recipe: Toasted Almond White Chocolate Irish Bread

Irish Soda Bread is a great breakfast or snack loaf, even when it isn't St. Patrick's Day. It's dense, sweet, satisfying, and basically halfway between a loaf cake and a loaf of bread.

But what if you don't like dried fruit? Or caraway seeds? Or what if you just want to buck tradition and shake things up a bit?

It's wild. It's crazy. It's -

Irish Soda Bread

- okay, maybe it's neither that wild or that crazy. But it is a fun twist on classic Irish Soda Bread! White chocolate and toasted almonds pair deliciously for a more dessert-like Irish Soda Bread variation.

Valentine's Day goodies have been decorating shop shelves since the start of January. That's too early!

Review: Bulu Box

Subscription box services make a great gift (Valentine's Day, anyone?) because they're a fun gift that your loved ones will enjoy for months to come. Every time a box arrives in the mail, they get to think of you and smile!

In addition to that, there are lots of specialized subscription services, so you can find the perfect thing for your loved one. They'll get to try lots of new products related to their interests and get a new gift every month. That's pretty great!

I recently tried a Bulu Box. The experience starts with an excitingly decorated orange box. It's so stimulating! So inspiring! So exclamatory!

I think it's the all-caps. And that it reads like a slightly over-caffeinated fitness trainer. If Jillian Michaels were a cardboard box...
