Getting Personal: Life Update and a New Blog Direction

I haven't blogged in a while, hello again!

Typical Girl

Still just me, being my normal self... I've decided to make the blog more personal, because food is great, but life is much more fun. So, in the spirit of that, let's start with some grand scale life updates.

I had a cat. I no longer have a cat.

I lived on the Upper West Side for half a minute (or almost a year, same thing though) with three roommates. I will soon no longer live on the UWS, nor will I have three roommates.

New York Girl

I am seriously always moving, guys, it's a problem - but calm yourselves, it will still be Manhattan - my little immigrant heart has taken to NYC and it's as much home as anywhere ever has been or ever could be.

After all, where will I find such a high concentration of fellow bloggers and awesome women who simultaneously love fashion as much as I do, and are totally killing it in the aggressive professional tracks they/we pursue?

I almost went to San Francisco (first time ever!) for a company holiday party. I did a CVS Health photoshoot in Rhode Island instead, but now I'm going to SF in a month for a week-long co-working thing. I believe I'll be not only co-working, but also co-habitating with my co-workers. Phew, that's a lot of 'co'-ing! Luckily, they're awesome people.

I received some promotions at work and it's made my super busy. Somehow I ended up doing sales?? I also talk on the phone a lot now, which is the stuff of little me's nightmares. I'm not sure how that happened, but HALP, guys.

Some major characters in my life were written out. Some sort of, kind of, maybe reappeared, but a little more time proved that no, they're not really in this act. Instead, there are some interesting new characters, as well as expanding roles for minor characters from earlier acts! Exciting.

I have big (hehe) personal developments next month, but I think I'll keep those to myself and a few select family members and friends with whom I've already shared my decision/news. Anyway, hopefully it'll have some professional impact as well and, either way, it's only about two weeks until a big change for me! EEP! 😁😁

After a solid decade+ of vegetarianism, with a few month (or several month) bursts of veganism mixed in for good measure, I eat fish again. I guess that makes me a pescatarian? 99% of my diet is still vegetarian, however, and I only really eat salmon - and raw/smoked salmon at that. Poke is delicious! Speaking of which, Red Poke is one of the few redeeming things about midtown. It's worth getting way too personal with the throngs of tourists on the sidewalks *shudder*. (Just kidding, I'm pro-tourism. I love to travel, after all! I just don't love being jostled from all sides by a group of them when I'm just trying to live my life in my much beloved city).

Anyway, coming riiiiight off of that announcement of my salmon-eating, no-longer-vegetarian ways for the past 9 or so months, I'm going to share a raw vegan chef I'm OBSESSED with. Typical, right? 😏 His food is sooooo good, though! 😍 If you've been following my blog for a while, you've heard of Rawvolution already.

There's a different menu every week and I actually really like how Chef Matt picks it all out for you, because it's like having your own personal chef, who wants to make delicious and healthy meals for you that not only give you your favorites, but also expose you to new things regularly. Thank you, Chef Matt!

Since I already have a blog post up raving about his amazing food, I'm going to keep it to a minimum in this life-update post.
